The Bandit SG-40 is a compact stump grinder and is a perfect solution for quickly moving from site to site and grinding stumps in restricted areas not accessible by larger models. Rugged yet lightweight, the SG-40 can quickly track in, grind the stump with efficiency, and track out.
Key Features
• 38-horsepower Kohler gasoline engine
• Wide 47” cutter wheel swing
• Powerful, adjustable rubber tracks
• 3-position, pivoting control panel
• Precise belt adjustment
• Rugged, simple design, yet lightweight
Performance And Productivity
A durable spindle and hub assembly promotes a long-lasting lifetime of oscillating motion and a new swing geometry extends the cutterwheel grinding width to a massive 47”. This makes the SG-40 a productive stump grinder as more time can be spent grinding rather than repositioning.
New Cutter Wheel Drive System
A reliable cutter wheel drive system contains an engine-side and cutterwheel-side belt tensioning system where tensioners can be precisely adjusted by bolts that drive a sliding plate to push the desired force upon the belt. This system also locks down the tensioners preventing flex and premature belt wear. Altogether, this new system is designed to carry maximum power from the engine and deliver it effectively to every rotation of the cutter wheel.
Adjustable Rubber Tracks
The SG-40 rides on durable rubber tracks that can take this machine across delicate lawns, rough terrain, or even rut-filled lot clearing sites. The tracks are vital for stabilizing the grinder at the stump, and are also now easily adjustable to keep proper tension. The locations of tracks and tanks on the chassis of the SG-40 have been refined to create a better center of gravity for more power, force, and leverage especially on inclined surfaces or uneven chip piles.
Choice of Cutterwheel
The SG-40 is available with an 8-tooth Greenwheel or a 24-tooth New Revolution wheel.
3-Position Operator Console
Controls are mounted at the rear of the machine on a 3-position pivoting console, so no matter the position of the stump, you’ll be able to get an excellent view of the grinding action. Control levers and instrumentation, including service points, promote good, proper ergonomics that make the SG-40 a pleasure to run.
Easy To Service
All major service points are easily accessible. With fewer moving parts there is less maintenance and less downtime. Grease zerks are easily visible and accessible from the outside. Larger tie downs also make hookup and transportation easier. Instrumentation can withstand the full range of outdoor temperatures and gritty conditions.
